The Benefits of a Bespoke Garden Design Service
At Compass Garden and Landscape Design, we are proud to offer a genuinely bespoke gardening service in the south of England. But what does this mean, and what advantages can this bring for you, if you are looking to refresh your outdoor space?
You Get the Garden You Want
The Oxford English Dictionary defines bespoke as ‘goods ordered to be made, as distinguished from ready-made’. In landscape gardening terms, this means that you get the garden that you asked for from Compass, within the confines of what is practical (for instance, the climate may rule out certain plants, while physical space may limit other elements of a landscape gardening project.)
However, in overall terms, the choice is yours – you can have something functional or aesthetic, or a traditional or contemporary garden design, whether you live in Wiltshire, Somerset or anywhere in the south-west of England.
You Get the Benefits of Professional Expertise
When it comes to landscape gardening, it’s beneficial to tap into the knowledge and expertise of someone who knows what they are talking about. At Compass, our lead garden designer Tom Murphy underwent his training at the highly respected Garden Design School and is also a member of the Society of Garden Designers, which boasts some of the leading names in the industry among its members.
He is also a trained horticulturalist and has helped clients (which include estate managers) transform their gardens from the most unpromising beginnings into the outdoor spaces of their dreams.
At Compass, we only use a network of reputable local traders, who can be trusted to carry out the work on time, on budget and to the very highest of standards.
You Can Plan for the Long- or the Short-Term
With a bespoke garden plan, it’s not just about planting a few flowers (although this can form one element of your design), they can take care of all the long-term projects such as patios, water features and rockeries which will last a long time and, in the case of a patio, will ensure you can get much more use out of your outdoor space.
At the end of the project, you will have a genuinely individual garden – there won’t be another one like it, and it will genuinely be ‘yours’ and not something you have seen on TV or in the local neighbourhood. And, if you ever want to move house, you should find that a high-quality landscaped garden adds a substantial amount to your asking price.
You Don’t Have to Opt for Everything
The best bespoke landscape gardeners don’t insist you use every single element of their service. We offer a genuinely bespoke service, so you can pick and choose the elements you want and don’t have to pay for everything. For instance, for financial reasons you might prefer to just book an initial consultation and written report with recommendations.
Alternatively, you might want us to conduct a survey and produce some initial concept sketches, but then complete the work yourself. You might want us to design and construct just one small area of the garden, or concentrate on the hard landscaping areas while you take care of all the soft landscaping elements.
Or you might just be after some advice on which plants will work best on which areas of the garden; our planting consultancy service, which we offer in Devizes, Frome and across the south west of England, will take care of this. We may also be able to source the plants at a more competitive price than you are able to; and we can plant them for you as well if you want.
